There are many benefits to membership in the ASLRRA, just one of which is access to high-quality training at a significantly reduced cost. ASLRRA is proud to partner with the National Academy of Railroad Sciences (NARS) to provide its members with training in virtually every craft, including: locomotive engineer, conductor, yard crew, mechanical, maintenance, engineering, signal systems, and telecommunications.
This training comes at an exceptional value as NARS has deeply discounted their coursework for ASLRRA members, a particularly appealing feature in these tough economic times. Yet the economy is not the only challenge you face. A well-trained work force is perhaps more important now than ever before due to the new regulatory burdens your operation faces. You know better than anyone that even in an often adverse environment your operation has to keep going. With NARS' cost-effective training options you can afford to give your employees the tools and knowledge they need to excel at their jobs, improving operational efficiency and your bottom line!

ASLRRA and NARS are introducing a grant process designed to reduce the costs of training classes, making these courses an even better bargain for employees of ASLRRA members. If you are interested in signing up for the grant process, call Cara Lione at (202) 585-3447 or Jenny Bourque at (202) 585-3449 to receive a certificate redeemable for 50% off the already reduced special ASLRRA member rate for one week of training on any one of the NARS courses specified above. We will document the names of the first 40 railroaders to reply, issue each a grant certificate number, and direct them to contact NARS to sign up for their chosen course. Each railroader will cite their unique grant certificate number when calling NARS to verify that he or she is, in fact, the recipient of a training grant. Each company may receive one grant each year, guaranteeing an even distribution of the grants.
