The ASLRRA and FRA will conduct a Drug & Alcohol training seminar in Kansas City, Missouri on February 14-15, covering Drug & Alcohol Program Manager Training along with Signs & Symptoms Training. This session will bring you up to speed on all of the 49 CFR Part 240 regulation changes that are being implemented in the coming months and provide you with a preview of what the new regulations will look like.

Drug & Alcohol Program Managers, do you know the answers to these questions?

  • Do I conduct an FRA Post Accident test if the damages are under $1 million?
  • Can I conduct a Post Accident test on a Maintenance of Way worker?
  • Can we conduct all of our random tests at the beginning of the shift?
  • Can I be the drug and alcohol program manager if I occasionally perform covered service?
  • We have 12 covered employees in our company and no joint operations. Can I conduct Federal pre-employment and random tests?
  • I am the railroad's EAP Counselor. Can I also be the DER?
  • The DOT forms have a place to mark, "Post Accident". If there are other forms in the post accident kit, when should I check that box?
  • Our Substance Abuse Professional recommended three years of Federal follow-up testing for an employee who tested positive for using marijuana. Can I then conduct two more years of company testing to finish out the 60 months?

This session will begin on Tuesday and conclude on Wednesday with a Signs & Symptoms Training Class. Register to attend this session and get the answers you need to comply with the regulations. Training will be conducted by FRA Program Managers and ASLRRA personnel. The training session will begin at 8:00am on Tuesday, February 14, and end by 4:00pm on Wednesday, February 15.
