The ASLRRA and FRA will conduct a Track Safety Standards, Continuous Welded Rail, and Bridge Management Training Seminar in Reno, Nevada, from March 20 - 21. This two-day seminar is all about track and bridges and will provide you with the tools you need to comply with federal regulations.
The first day will cover 49 CFR Part 213 and the regulations contained within. You will be instructed by Ken Rusk, Staff Director in FRA's Office of Safety, about the requirements of inspections, the roadbed, classes of track, and the structures and appurtenances necessary to maintain in order to have a safe track structure. Roadmasters, Track Supervisors, Track Foremen, and others who have maintenance of way responsibilities should strongly consider attending this session.
The second day of the seminar will focus on the bridge rules mandated in the Rail Safety Improvement Act (RSIA) of 2008. This class will cover bridge management programs and outline the present requirements of federal statute and rule. Attendees will receive the template program developed by ASLRRA in concert with FRA and the ASLRRA bridge committee. Participants will not only receive the plan, but will also work the plan in this classroom setting, allowing them to leave the training session with an operationally sound document that can be adopted as their railroad's Bridge Management Plan. This class will be conducted by an FRA bridge and structures engineer who is a professional in the field of structural engineering. All railroad bridge management personnel would benefit from this comprehensive training session.
This session will begin on Tuesday at 8:00am and conclude on Wednesday by 4:00pm. Register to attend this session and get the answers you need to comply with the provisions of 49 CFR Part 213 and RSIA!
